How to Apply for a Scholarship
We select our candidates carefully, with a list of qualifications and a personal interview. Why? Because Launchpad is a community and we are welcoming you in. We are new Canadians helping new Canadians. We want to select not only the needy and deserving, but also those whom we believe would be excited to pay a generous gift forward, when they are able, to another person in the same need. In other words, once you are established in your new career, donate back to our organization to help someone just like yourself.
Pay It Forward
This is the principal idea behind Launchpad. It is our hope that in the future, we will be funded and run, completely by our alumni. New Canadians helping new Canadians.
How to Qualify
Candidates
Must be new to Canada (less than 6 years)
Be a Canadian citizen, a refugee claimant, a convention refugee, a protected person, or a permanent resident.
Must live in the Vancouver lower mainland area.
Be 18 years of age or older
Must be, or will be, registered in an educational program
Must be able to show us how their well-thought-out education and career plan
Demonstrate motivation and drive to complete their education or a certification program
As a result of completing their studies, newcomers to Canada will directly benefit from Launchpad by being able to secure for themselves meaningful employment with a livable wage.
